Mike Trout has been red hot since his return from the disabled list, belting three home runs in eight games. But his latest, a solo shot in Sunday’s 3-2 win, made a young fans day, and possibly life.
The reigning American League MVP took on Rick Porcello, the reigning American League Cy Young award winner Sunday. Porcello won the first two battles, but in the sixth, Trout took a 1-1 fastball deep to right center field for his 19thhome run of the season, trying the game in the process.
As the ball made its way to the seats, a group of fans tried to snag the Trout big fly, but it ended up in the glove of a young Angels fan. After the impressive snag, he stood in disbelieve after catching the 187th home run of Mike Trout’s career.
This fans reaction is how anyone would react if they caught a home run from Mike trout. Catching a baseball at a major league game is a difficult feat, let alone catching a game ball. But catching a game home run form arguable the best player in the game is cause for celebration.
Congrats to the fan on the nice snag out in the stands. 2017 has been a great year for baseball, and hopefully we can see more moments like this emerge out of a dinger.
