It’s the New Year, and that means its resolution time. For Felipe Rivero, he promised to be even nastier in 2018, if that even possible.

Pittsburgh Pirates closer Felipe Rivero is nasty. With a fastball that averaged over 99 miles-per-hour in 2017, he is one of the hardest throwers in the game. His stuff is just flat out nasty.

A 93-mile-per-hour changeup?!? Must be nice. As midnight was approaching and 2017 was coming to an end, Rivero took the time out to wish a Happy New Year to all of his fans, and especially his haters.

Rivero is coming off a fantastic year as the Pirates closer. He pitched to a 1.67 ERA across 73 games, including converting 21 of 23 save opportunities. He also racked up 88 strikeouts in just 75.1 innings of work.

If Rivero’s New Years Resolution holds true,  that’s not a good sign for hitters next season. He is establishing himself as one of the elite arms in the game, and if he can continue his dominance, then that’s bad news for his haters.
