The Little League World Series is just around the corner, and the regional qualifiers are underway. Some of the best youngsters will gather in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to determine the best Little League team on the planet.
During the Southeast regional game between Georgia and South Carolina, 13-year-old Jayce Blalock stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded. The commentators speculated on his raw power, and on cue, Blalock delivered.
Jayce has drawn shades of Carlos from The Benchwarmers with his size and power for obvious reasons. He is listed at 5’7’’ 157 pounds, and his swing is amazing for someone his age. The ball was a no doubter off the bat, clearing the outfield wall, grass hill, trees, stratosphere and settled somewhere around Pluto.
Blalock has been on a tear in the Southeast regional tournament, hitting .400/.538/1.000 with a double, triple, home run and eight runs batted in. Georgia needs to win Tuesday and Wednesday in order to win the tournament and reach Williamsport.
