Baseball Lifestyle 101 has added yet another big-name prospect to its featured athlete roster. Trent Maybin, from Asheville, N.C., is the newest athlete to join the loaded list of Baseball Lifestyle featured athletes.
Maybin is a 6’2”, 180 lb. right-handed hitting outfielder in the class of 2026 that will be taking his talents to the University of Texas, currently the number 17-ranked team in the country.
Maybin committed to Texas in September 2024 and credits head coach Jim Schlossnagle and 14-year MLB veteran Troy Tulowitzki, the team’s hitting coach, for making his recruiting process special and making the school feel like a place he could envision himself improving both as a baseball player and off the field.

“[I’m excited for] everything,” said Maybin. “From the cages, to the field, to the campus, I just fell in love with it.”
The team finished with a 44-14 record in the 2025 season in the SEC, recognized as one of the most competitive conferences in the NCAA ranks. The school switched over from the Big 12 in 2024, and the level of competition in the SEC will give Maybin the opportunity to play against the best collegiate players in the country when he arrives on campus for the first time in 2026.
Son of 15-year MLB veteran Cameron Maybin, Maybin has been around big league clubhouses for most of his life and has received advice both on and off the field from players like Miguel Cabrera, George Springer, and Giancarlo Stanton.
Maybin has seen his father on the brightest stages of baseball, most notably when he became a World Series champion with the Houston Astros in 2017. The opportunity to grow up around the big leagues has given him his own perspective of what that lifestyle is like and helped formulate his own goals for what he wants to achieve in his career.
“I want to be an All-Star and win a World Series,” Maybin said. “Even if I go 0-3, I just want to win, and that’s always the goal.”

Maybin credited his love of the game as a key piece of his development as a player both on and off the field. Having learned from some of the best players of this generation, Maybin truly embodies the Baseball Lifestyle through lessons he’s learned and will carry with him throughout his baseball career.
“You have to be obsessed with this game to play it for a long time,” said Maybin. “Otherwise, someone else will be getting better while you’re not working.
Maybin played travel baseball for the 2026 San Diego Padres Scout Team, one of the premier travel teams in the country. His work ethic gave him an opportunity to stand out among other top prospects in his class and play with the energy and excitement that feeds his love of the game.
While in New York, Maybin sat down for an interview with Baseball Lifestyle to cover everything he loves about the game. Catch the full interview coming soon on the Baseball Lifestyle YouTube channel.
Maybin also toured the Baseball Lifestyle headquarters, previewing future products, and getting to learn more about the brand he loves. He then was the feature athlete in Baseball Lifestyle’s new campaign photoshoot with Realtree where Maybin brought the same energy and excitement he brings to the field every day, helping define the collection and underscoring his passion for the game.

He was also a part of the content team for the day, posing as an employee, packing orders in the warehouse, and filming viral short-form content to be featured on the brand’s social media pages.
Maybin went into New York City for an episode of Sneaker Shopping, presented by Baseball Lifestyle at District One in Manhattan, where he got the chance to add to his sneaker collection, give more of a background on himself, and discuss how fashion has become a big part of his life and established his personal style. Stay tuned for the video coming soon also on the Baseball Lifestyle Youtube channel.
He draws inspiration for his style from some of the best players in MLB, like Jazz Chisholm and Francisco Lindor, but also NBA athletes like Oklahoma City Thunder star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as role models for what they do on their respective fields and how they carry themselves in terms of style.
“Trent embodies everything we represent as a brand,” said Josh Gerson, Baseball Lifestyle’s CCO. “We could not be more excited to be a part of his journey to the next level and beyond. His energy is infectious and we know he is going to impact the game both on and off the field.”
