There's a moment early on where Jackson Olson is standing in a dugout built for eight-year-olds, laughing at how small it is. A few hours later, he's at a microphone in front of hundreds of people while the town mayor declares November 22nd, 2025 Jackson Olson Day. In between, he made a pizza, ate a donut sample at his favorite grocery store, and taught some kids a trick play in a parking lot.
That's Jackson. All of it, at once, without apology.
He grew up in New Milford, Connecticut wanting to be Derek Jeter, not for the fame, but for the work ethic. “I’m not the most talented, but I work harder than everyone else.” That’s a line Jeter said in interviews. It’s also, without him saying it outright, the story of Jackson’s entire career: Division I baseball, a COVID-canceled shot at the draft, a transfer, a Cape Cod League summer, and a slow, steady TikTok following that grew into something nobody, including his parents, fully saw coming.
The crystallizing moment, if you had to pick one, happened at a game against Alabama. Someone in the stands yelled “stick to TikTok” at him. He hit a home run. “I remember hearing TikTok. I remember hitting the home run. Everything else I blacked out.” The rest, as they say, is content.
Today he performs with the Savannah Bananas, works as an MLB ambassador, and has nearly 3.5 million followers across platforms. But the part that sticks — the part the video keeps coming back to — isn’t the numbers. It’s what he said when asked what his purpose is now: “To inspire and to impact people. And that’s it.”
That’s not something you slap on a hoodie. Except, in this case, it kind of is.
