The Trash Talk Collection is BL101's newest line of baseball apparel — and it does something most gear doesn't. In sunlight, a hidden pattern appears across the fabric. Indoors, it's gone. The effect is automatic, repeatable, and built directly into the clothing.
Here's a closer look at the collection, what to expect from the UV-reactive technology, and how to keep it performing its best.
How the UV Effect Works
The Trash Talk Collection uses UV-reactive ink embedded in the fabric. In normal indoor lighting or shade, the clothing appears as a solid light blue with no visible pattern. When exposed to sunlight, the ink activates and a bold "trash talk" phrase pattern becomes visible across the fabric.
The process is fully reversible — the pattern fades when removed from sunlight and reappears the next time it's exposed. There's nothing to activate or charge. The effect typically becomes fully visible within 10–15 seconds of sun exposure and fades back within a minute of going back indoors.
UVChangeUp Pieces in the Collection

UVChangeUp Trash Talk Shorts - Light blue athletic shorts with a built-in mesh liner, 1.75" elastic waistband with drawstring, and a zippered side pocket. In sunlight, an all-over baseball trash talk phrase pattern appears across both legs. Available in youth (YXXS–YXL) and adult (S–XXL) sizing.

UVChangeUp Trash Talk Quarter Zip Hoodie - A white and light blue quarter-zip hoodie that looks clean and minimal in the shade. In sunlight, the same trash talk phrase pattern activates across the hood and upper body panels. A good option for warmups, the dugout, or travel days.

BSBL-SZN V3 Short Sleeve Hoodie - A light blue sleeveless hoodie with bold orange printed sleeves. The UV effect is concentrated in the chest logo — the "BSBL SZN" graphic shifts from a tonal white to a bright orange when hit by sunlight. Available in youth and adult sizing.
What to Expect
The strength of the effect varies with UV intensity. On bright, sunny days the pattern is vivid and high-contrast. On overcast days it will still activate, though more subtly. The effect is the same whether it's the first time wearing the garment or the hundredth.
Over time and with many washes, the intensity of the UV effect may gradually soften, as it does with any treated or printed fabric. With proper care, the effect holds up well through a full season of regular wear.
Care Instructions
The UV-reactive ink responds poorly to heat and harsh chemicals. Following a few simple steps will extend the life of the effect significantly.
Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Turn the garment inside out before washing. Use a regular mild detergent — avoid anything with bleach or optical brighteners, and skip fabric softener.
Drying: Air dry only. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct, prolonged sun exposure. Do not put in the dryer — heat is the primary cause of UV ink breakdown over time.
Ironing: Do not iron over any printed area.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark place when not in use. Avoid leaving gear in a hot car or in direct sunlight for extended periods between wears.
What Makes the Fabric Great
Even setting aside the cool UV trick, this is genuinely good athletic wear. The shell fabric is a lightweight polyester-spandex blend that stretches and moves — great for kids who are running, sliding, and swinging all day. The shorts have a built-in mesh liner, an elastic waistband with a drawstring, and a zippered side pocket so they're not losing their stuff.
It's built for baseball. The UV effect is just a very fun bonus.
