The Complete Travel Baseball Tournament Packing Clothing List - From a Player Who Lived It

So many times there is anxiety in the room before you leave for a tournament.

"Did I bring everything I need?

What about x?

What about y?

Do I even need z?

If I do need z, where am I putting that? I don’t have an ounce of space left."

So what is needed? We’ll go top to bottom with everything.

Above the Waist

Team Hats & Jerseys: part of the uniform! While it may seem obvious, many times teams will have two or more hats to go with their multiple jerseys, make sure you have both.

Eye Black: do I need it to play baseball? Probably not. But am I packing it anyway? Absolutely. Part of baseball is feeling confident before you step on the field. For a lot of players, eye black helps with that. If guys like Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper don't forget theirs, I'm not going to forget mine either.

Sunscreen: a must-have for the summer. Remember, nobody has ever defeated the sun. With the adrenaline pumping and the excitement of games all weekend, it's very easy to forget to protect yourself from burns.

Sunglasses: speaking of the sun, while you're avoiding getting burned, prepare yourself for fly balls by wearing sunglasses. You don't want to be borrowing someone else's if you don't have to.

Comfortable T-Shirts: in between games, you want to feel as comfortable as possible. That feeling bleeds into feeling good during games. Pack your most comfortable t-shirts, and check out our full lineup for great options.

Below the Waist

Baseball Pants: like hats and jerseys, this is part of the uniform! Make sure you have all versions of your team's pants to complete your uniform.

Belt: easy to forget when you've already packed your pants, but the belt is essential! Don't forget it.

Compression Shorts/Leggings: whatever makes you more comfortable. Many times these have a cooling element that wicks sweat and moisture away from your skin.

Socks: obviously you have your "on the field" socks, but don't forget some comfortable socks to wear at hotels or after games. As one of my coaches always said, if you aren't using your feet, you aren't playing right! Take care of them!

Cleats & Turf Shoes: these give you the ability to be prepared for whatever surface you might be playing on, and with turf more popular than ever, you'll be ready for anything.

Shorts: another comfort layer. During my playing career, feeling as comfortable as possible helped me to feel rested, and feeling rested helped me play my best. Check out the full collection for some great options.

Slides: essential for post-game recovery. Slides help you transition to rest, kicking off hot cleats or turf shoes to prepare your feet for the next game.

Being prepared for the game and comfortable when you're off the field is something you'll never regret. Having what you need is just the start of a great tournament weekend.
